Dash Cam for Taxi and Cab Drivers
Short answer
For a taxi or cab, buy a dash cam that records the cabin as well as the road. A car carrying passengers all day needs a record of what happens inside, and rear footage for the driver who blames you for braking. The TWM R3 records front, cabin and rear at once for ₹4,990.
Why 3 cameras
- Front. The road ahead, for any collision.
- Rear. In a rear-end collision the driver behind often blames the car in front for braking. Rear footage is your witness.
- Cabin. A record of a dispute with a passenger, or of a complaint about the ride.
What else a working car needs
- A big card. Long shifts fill a card fast. The R3 takes cards up to 256GB.
- Wi-Fi. Pull a clip to your phone on the spot, without removing the card.
- Parking monitoring, if the car is parked on the street overnight. On the R3 it's a setting you switch on in the camera.
For fleet owners
If you run several cabs, the TWM AI Dash Cam watches the driver for phone use, yawning, closed eyes and distraction, warns about collisions and lane drift, and streams live video and location to the TWM app over 4G. It costs ₹13,990, plus a 4G SIM and a yearly app subscription.
About filming passengers
Recording inside the car is different from recording the road. If your platform or permit has rules on cabin cameras, or on telling passengers they're being recorded, follow them.
